The professional services offered by Babbage were topographical survey, geotechnical investigation, design of the retaining wall, the pump station, rising mains and the water supply, technical investigation, and tender documentation. The project was delivered in three stages.

The first stage comprised 500m of 300mm gravity pipeline which was successfully delivered in 2020, within 3 months of award and it was constructed in January 2021. The second stage consisted of 2.5km of 400mm gravity pipeline, completed and delivered in 2021.

The third stage comprises a 37kW pump station and the rising main to convey 60 litres per second this stage in the tendering phase.

Challenges

Stage 1 was designed in three months and constructed in 1 month.

The gravity sewer option in Stage 2 comprised of 15-20m pipe sections. We recommended the pump station option after evaluating multiple feasible options.

Stage 3 comprised of designing the pumpstation to be located at the foot of Howie Park which is a hill.
